The Ghost…

~

He’s got kind eyes…
And a gentle heart…

But a sinner’s mind…
And his soul is dark…

Tried the right way…
But seduced by the wrong…

A well-trodden path…
Since the day he was born…

Into a splintered world…
Fractured in two…

Carrying years of anger…
And such sadness too…

It eats away at him…
Like a cancer inside…

And he can’t remember…
The last time he cried…

He just bottles it up…
And locks it all away…

With no hint nor trace…
It’s always been this way…

Because he’s so nonchalant…
And calm on the outside…

Managing to cover it all up…
With each and every lie…

It can’t ever be helped…
Or even nursed better…

It’s a constant presence…
Like an unwritten letter…

To the ones he loved…
In some final confession…

Detailing all the mistakes…
And his wrong decisions…

As he was fast asleep…
With his mind wide open…

Stumbling through life…
Knowing something was broken…

Something deep down…
That could never be fixed…

Whilst he walks this Earth…
In a trance and bewitched…

By all those feelings…
Hidden in his heart…

Whilst a sinner’s mind…
Keeps his soul so dark…

Disowned by the Gods…
Cast out into Hell…

A man who sold his soul…
For a ride on Satan’s carousel…

Remember, Remember, Remember…
It’s harder than you think…
A lonely dark night in November…
Distraction began with a drink…

Always trying to look forward…
Forever chained to the past…
Memories totally alcohol blurred…
Actions that happened so fast…

Eye…
Fly…
High…

He always liked to watch…
It’s what he once believed…
Swallow another scotch…
It numbed as he deceived…

Trying hard to stay in control…
Amid flashbacks of torment…
The dancer sliding down the pole…
Adults who would consent…

Fly…
Me…
High…

One moment in time gave him wings…
The belief he could indeed fly…
A giant amongst conquering kings…
Now guilt simply asks why…

Stop, stare, are they seeing this too…
A direct effect of the lies…
It’s above the beyond, focused out of view…
Only hindsight makes people wise…

Eye…
Won’t…
Cry…

And so it comes full circle…
His brain can’t handle the truth…
A story of Hyde & Mr Jekyll…
The finger now pointed at you…

Remember, Remember, Remember…
It’s harder than you think…
A lonely dark night in November…
Seduction began with a drink…

Eye…
Fly…
High…

Shooting Stars…

~

We are here today…
But gone too soon…

Just shooting stars…
Not like the Moon…

That hangs around…
In time and space…

Never ever revealing…
It’s darkened face…

Remaining forever…
Within our view…

Unlike the passing…
Of those we hold true…

The ones we love…
Become faces we lose…

The best get taken…
We don’t get to choose…

Who stays or who goes…
Into heavens domain…

From the dawn of time…
It has been the same…

As the departed travel…
Into unknown lands…

Leaving behind them…
Our grieving hands…

Reaching upwards…
Towards the night sky…

Forever asking…
“Why Gods, Why”…

But no one answers…
And the silence deafens…

Our turn gets closer…
Our mortality threatened…

Because in many ways…
We just live to die…

We can’t stop it…
Or even begin to try…

As we’re here today…
But will be gone too soon…

Just shooting stars…
Not like the Moon…

Freedom…

eih

~

There was no end to the war…
No vaccine for her virus…

That noise in her head was constant…
She craved for simple silence…

She found it hard to focus…
Her tears would sting and burn…

Her feelings were overwhelming…
Drove her to a point of no return…

Her emptiness needed numbing…
And pills would mask the pain…

One of her comforting old habits…
As she swallowed with vodka again…

It brought clarity and reflection…
Provided a chance to look back…

As the memories overwhelmed her…
She saw good mixed with the bad…

The world wasn’t always against her…
Not everyone was so unkind…

There were glimpses of real happiness…
As battles were fought in real-time…

Realisation started to wash over her…
Kind faces began flooding her dream…

She heard voices filled with pity…
But they became a deafening scream…

Her life force slowly ebbed away…
She was moving towards the light…

Soft lullabies filled all her senses…
As she tried so hard to fight…

The panic set in and infected…
This poor girl was in need of saving…

As this wasn’t really her intention…
Nor the silence she’d been craving…

Her eyes became tired and heavy…
Sleep seemed so safe and warm…

The angels began whispering secrets…
Ready to remove her from all harm…

And as time waits for no one…
The moment came swiftly, then passed…

Leaving her floating body weightless…
And free from all pain at last…

Shutting Down…

24657059

~

“They” are forcing me…
To shut myself down…

And stop communicating…
From extrovert and clown…

To becoming so silent…
Lost adrift in my head…

No longer expressing…
No vocal words said…

Just sitting in corners…
And waiting to see…

If there is anything left…
Of the man that was me…

It’s like being in a prison…
Silence binds and restricts…

Nobody around to talk to…
My inner thoughts conflict…

It’s so damn frustrating…
The reasons are unclear…

What was the problem…
What did “they” fear…

Sat in pure cold isolation…
It’s all so quietly black…

No answers from the shadows…
There seems no route back…

To standing front and centre…
Speaking to the crowd…

Telling funny stories…
And laughing out aloud…

But that’s a distant memory…
Not the here and not now…

Am trying hard to adjust…
Though not really sure how…

How the fuck did I get here…
How much more can I take…

This is beginning to feel…
Like one huge mistake…

Not sure of my options…
I’m not clear what to do…

And like a sinner in confession…
Trapped thoughts ensue…

I need to find resolution…
Need to find an escape…

To free myself of the darkness…
And transform my landscape…

‘Are you worried about me? But I’m fine’.

I might sit in a corner, but I’m fine.

Yesterday was my tomorrow, but is it today already?

I swore today not to be saddened, but I swear I didn’t see the sun rise!

Talk about being stuck in a dark room, on the sun’s surface!

I should have seen it, even when facing the corner!

Her majesty, beauty of a thousand white roses, the epic sun rise,

Who misses such? I wonder.

It’s not about the blaring heat of the sun; it’s the way it moves.

But scientists say otherwise.

Can’t wait turn my head to the window, focus on the streaming rays.

But I’m fine, just starring deep into the universe.

A universe merging two walls, geometric cracks blemish it.

Yet it’s aura of presences makes it a perfection, a corner of perfection.

Don’t worry about the darkness; it’s just a requisite of light.

Soon, before the Sun dawns, I’ll remember why am facing it,

Before i break my neck glaring through the window, into the sunburst,

But for now, let me sit, watching, and taking-in the breathe-taking scene.

Because deep down, I’m fine, as I crave for a slit in my skin,

Pain, makes everything fine…eventually.

That first ray hits the roughness of my skin, as I turn my head,

Ready to slit what is, before I remember what was,

It dawns on me, that baby I’m fine!

Without the consequential memoirs, without the past pain prejudice,

I’d rather perfection keep itself alive, breathing its seconds away,

As they wash away, with every tick, of every second hand,

Maybe two clocks fasten the time, imperialism of a world with so many times,

But one clock, a clock that starts when after being born!

Disappointment of figuring out the math, of falling in love with a Sunburst,

From a Star, millions of miles away,

But for now, men, just pause!

The Darkness…

jafsda

~

There’s a darkness that runs…
Through each memory…

A numbness that blunts…
All the pictures she sees…

Moments carefully captured…
Times that were shared…

But the sadness behind them…
No one could be aware…

As the version presented…
Hides the true horror story…

The day to day reality…
Hides in her untold history…

As nobody really knew…
And no one really saw…

The monster he became…
The viciousness in his claw…

As he hid it so well…
He turned on the charm…

Dazzled those around him…
Whilst he inflicted the harm…

Behind closed, locked doors…
There was agony and pain…

He left unseen bruises…
And scars just the same…

He reigned in pure terror…
Silenced any form of dissent…

With a violence erupting…
From that mild mannered gent…

He was both Jekyll and Hyde…
She could never escape…

And she paid so dearly…
For each and every mistake…

When she spoke out of line…
When she acted out of turn…

A low punch was punishment…
Or a well hidden cigarette burn…

And when he finally passed…
His ghost still remained…

Now any photo she sees…
Brings back all her pain

Butterfly in shimmering light,

Garden blooming in new season.

Kookaburra, sitting, soulful –

Poignant is the far horizon.

Orchid flowers, life awakens,

The day grows ever longer.

Shadows present,

Sunshine alightens,

Prodigious is her effort, action.

Human in kind,

Love we find

In simple, pleasant things.

Far horizon, ever closer,

Droplets they descend.

Life, we wish to never end,

The day draws near,

We transcend.
